The TEC (Towsure Eclipse Coupling) system is available as an upgrade option for most new Towsure towing brackets, either when fitting the towbar, or even as a later upgrade (to compatible towbars only – the TEC detachable option is available for all towbars highlighted in yellow). When required, the detachable towball is easily fitted in seconds with no tools required. The secure three point fixing with our positive mounting with no hidden springs or clips gives freedom from any doubt that the towball is attached safely and securely. Our unique bayonet fitting design helps to prevent theft or deliberate uncoupling of the coupled trailer or caravan. The detachable neck is impossible to remove without twisting the ball by 45 degrees – certainly a near impossible task with a laden trailer or caravan coupled. The neck stays attached to the car – without fiddly locks and keys. As with all our towing brackets, the TEC detachable ball is rigorously tested and approved to EC94/20 standards.

When not in use, all that is visible of the towbar is the weatherproof rubber cover, tucked neatly and discreetly away underneath the bumper. No greasy ball to soil clothes and no protrusions to bruise shins.
